Animation - Pops studio

Here are some samples of the work I am doing for Pops Studio.
Those little five seconds movies are intended for the mobile platform via an android app.
Design and animation style are entirely free which is great.
I mainly use Flash animation with some After-Effect compositing.
Backgrounds and textures are done in Photoshop. The first ones are strongly influenced by Hiroshige and Hokusai as they used the kind of elongated format I have to use as template.

I know it is a long time since my last post but I have a little overstretched myself over the last months. I've met a lot of wonderful guys from different studios and seen beautiful films.
But it is not a reason no to wish you all the best for the new year: may it be full of wonderful animated achievements.

Festival Animedia 2012 - The Jam Thief selected!

I am happy to announce that The Jam Thief has been selected to be part of the next Festival Animedia that will take place in Panamà in February.

The Jam thief - Festival Selection!

I am delighted to announce that in addition to be showcased this November at the CineMe animation events in Bristol, The Jam Thief had been selected at the Cartoon Club Festival 2011 (Rimini, Italy) in the Signor Rossi Awards. Yippee!

Character Design - Penguins-CGI and Flash-

Those are some character designs I've done earlier this year for a Los Angeles based studio in regards of a CGI project feature. This sample includes preliminary sketches and color proposition made in Flash and Photoshop. The main goal was to keep it fresh, colorful and fun. So here it goes some quirky penguins!

Hairy Baby- Observational Drawing

This a quick doodle from memory. I saw this baby fast asleep this afternoon. He had those curiously located spots of hair on his skull. Cute but strange. I thought it was best to put this on paper (in this case photoshop file) while it was still fresh in my mind.
